Day 9 & 10 Southern France

Thursday and Friday we spent our time in southern France, Provence actually! Everything we have seen has been absolutely great and keeps getting better. Thursday morning we went to a Lavender museum, and an olive oil mill in the morning, then had a very nice lunch in Les Baux a cool tourist town. After that we traveled even further south to the Mediterranean Sea at Saints Maries de la Mer. We had time to walk around and visit the cool shops, the beach and then took a boating tour before having a great supper at a restaurant right near the water.
In the morning we went to a Lavender museum in Coustellet. This is actually Lavandine... Fine Lavender only grows above an altitude of 800 meters.

Here our guide explains the process of distilling the lavender to make fine lavender oils.

After the Lavender Museum, we visited an olive oil mill. We tasted some yummy olive oil and olive pastes.

In the Afternoon we headed down to Saintes Maries de la Mer and took a tour of the Rhone river delta to the Mediterranean Sea.  These are some cattle that live along the river valley.

Here is a view of the city and the church which is the highest building of the city.

Along the our tour we also saw these wild horses.. Once the young reach adulthood, their hair will change from brown to pure white like the other horse shown above.

Regina, Haylie and Emily dipping their toes in the water.

Since we were right along the sea what else would we have but fresh sea food. Included was full shrimp, oysters, scallops, calamari, and a piece of chicken with bed of rice.. Very good if you like seafood!
